July. August.

It's been a jam-packed two months, starting with our trip to Seattle with Nana and Papa, where we ate an incredible quantity of copper river salmon, and grew a veneer of moss at Lake Quinault lodge. The week following Seattle, Los Andersons stayed with us for a few days as part of their mega-ultra-roadtrip from San Diego to Seattle and back. The girls are freakin' awesome. And hilarious. They took turns paying attention to Zane. He thinks they are the best things since, well, ever.

The Matt, The Super-D, The Eva and The Ruby.

Watermelon, cookie-cutters, l'chaim! (this was Dianna's genius moment of the weekend).

1 out of 1 Ru-Rus dig it.

All the chillins'

After Zane's depression wore off from the Anderson ladies heading down south, Dad went to Drs. Nick and Julie's hitchinfest in a tiny town outside of Menomonie, WI. If you've never heard of Menomonie, that's okay, most people from Wisconsin haven't heard of it either. For the bachelor party, there were only two things to do:

1. Shoot (Dianna says, "this picture creeps me out")

2. Drink something called "Leinenkeugel's". I have to say, the world is better off that this shit isn't shipped across state lines.

To add a twist, the Rehearsal was actually the wedding, although I don't think it made the actual wedding any less stressful for the Nick and the Julie... but keep in mind that Nick gets stressed out thinking about putting milk into his cereal in the morning.

It was a very fun time, and both Nick and Julie looked great. They couldn't have done a better job at any level.

Finally, Zane made his first trip to the Zoo! Upon advice from our good friend Diana Davis, we went to Oakland, as they do a good job of keeping the animals happy there. Also, it has been a long time since anyone was eaten by a lion in Oakland. We went with our good friends Jess, Ryan and Owen. As Zane is a year and a half old now (!), it was a good time to take him. We've been reading about animals nonstop for the past few months, and it was time to show him that those pictures are actually real animals.

Zane simply lost his mind at the elephant exhibit. He's always had an affinity for them in Eric Carle books and on Baby Einstein, but I think that the scale of the real-deal elephant was a bit of a shock to him.

Since the Zoo he runs around the house giggling and making elephant noises... all day long. I am not kidding.

Trying to make Eva and Ruby come back...

Much love to all.

How fun! I love the picture of Zane kissing the frog. That is so cute! Isn't it fun to see how they relate pictures in a book to the real deal!

Does it surprise anyone that I've been to Menomonie, WI? I don't think there is a small, half-backwards town I haven't worked in. What does that say about my company?
