What a good BIG brother!

Since time is short... we thought we would present this story line as pictures. Morning of March 3, Mama Z is about to leave for the hospital to deliver Trey....

Next day, Zane comes into hospital room, hugs mommy and says "where is my baby brother?"

Zane held Trey for about 15 seconds before he said with a nervous smile, "ok, mama your turn.... mama, really that's enough".

Zane is making sure Trey has legs and arms (since Trey is wrapped tightly in a blanket, it causes a little confusion). Then Zane gives Trey his first airplane...

Zane is so excited! And he is very protective of his brother...
"Daddy, stop hitting my brother!" -- when Zane saw Gus first burp Trey.

"That's enough, don't hurt my brother" -- when Zane first heard Trey cry while we were changing his diaper.

"I'm not mad at Trey, Mommy (Daddy), I'm mad at YOU!"

And perhaps our favorite... "Is the red penis going to fall off?" -- after looking at the circumcision and explaining to Zane that Trey's umbilical cord will fall off.

What a good BIG brother for caring...

Guess what? I am 4 years old!

On February 20-21, Zane had a wonderful birthday! AND it did not RAIN! This was huge, as we scheduled an outdoor party. Most of you around the country would think that is pretty stupid plan in Feb, but in California we pay for the sunshine and we planned on utilizing it for Zane's special day.

Interestingly Zane had a specific request this year, the first for any birthdays. He actually asked for a bouncy, and with that we delivered and held a party to boot. Mama Z was 37 weeks pregnant so we were not sure how exactly this whole party thing was going to be pulled off. But with friends to share in the experience, a bouncy showcasing a basketball and soccer ball (picked by Zane), Papa John's to deliver pizza, a rented pop corn machine and ice cream cake from Baskin Robins, we had a lot of fun on a relatively relaxing Sunday afternoon. Only a few pictures were taken, because we were enjoying our guests, but towards the end we snapped a few. We did miss photos of the cake and many of the guests, but there still are some cute shots in the web photo albums for you to enjoy.

Monday Feb 21, Zane's actual birthday was also President's Day this year. Daddy had the day off, so we had a second smaller celebration at Safari Run, an indoor playground. Mama Z is not too fast on the obstacle course, so she was able to snap a number of pictures to remember the moment. Here are a few highlights! Zane's best friend and frequent face you see in pictures is Owen. Thanks Owen for celebrating Zane's birthday 2 days in a row!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Zane had a wonderful 4th Christmas! We stayed at home and enjoyed California weather, but missed all of the family in Texas. Mama Zeiner and Trey are doing great, but we are very tired in the evening, so it has been hard to keep up with the blog. Many pictures have been updated to the web photo albums. Please take a look.

Let's go Rangers! Let's go Giants!

Rangers winning game 3!
Yes, the post is a little late, but you at least need to join in fun through our pictures. We had a blast watching the World Series this year! Mama Zeiner was totally torn on only picking one team, so lamely but truthfully I cheered for both the Rangers and the Giants! Dude, what a fun predicament to be in! I grew up not only in Texas but ARLINGTON Texas during the time of Nolan Ryan, and for the past 6 years I have loved watching the Giants. So, like it or not, I was happy with whomever won!
